(Boris Johnson)
The government is once again instructing you:
Stay at home
Work from home
remember
No Parties
No Parties
Remember stay at home
Work from home
My standards
my law
No Parties
Blinded by a champagne cork!
(Allegra Stratton)
This fictional Party
it was a business meeting
No Parties
My standards
my law
it was a business meeting
No Parties
I once again offer a full apology
people had the right to expect better
My standards
my law
No Parties
Like most countries during the pandemic
the UK Government put in place strict social distancing policies
designed to keep people safe
These included:
* preventing people visiting dying relatives in hospital
* restricting the numbers able to attend funerals
* banning non essential travel
And NO PARTIES
Even during the pandemic members of Boris Johnson's
inner circle, were caught flouting the rules and resigned
Johnson persistently denied any knowledge of illegal parties.
But once again this was proven to be a lie.
He received a fixed penalty fine for breaking the law.
Unlike on other occasions he no longer had the
press on his side, who sensing the public mood quickly
dubbed the scandal 'partygate'.
In May 2022 Johnson faced a vote of no confidence from his own party
Even though he narrowly won, his fate was sealed, by September he had resigned.
This song is a mashup of interviews given by Johnson
and the recording of a damning spoof press conference his PR team
(Allegra Stratton) staged when they thought they were off mic. In it they
admit to the denied parties.
